for Wilton Manors City Commissioner
Don is passionate about growing the City of Wilton Manors responsibly to ensure our budget is sustainable and fiscally responsible. This will ensure we maintain the quality and safety we all expect. I stand WITH you, FOR you, recognizing that Wilton Manors is a hidden gem that require us to move forward intelligently, together.
We need greater emphasis on our roads to ensure that they are safe and accessible for everyone. That requires an increased focus on managing speed and traffic volume in our neighborhoods, increasing police presence on targeted streets, and increasing walking/bicycling accessibility.
Don advocates for residents, businesses and tourism in our city. Don supports the revitalization of our commercial corridors, ensuring we maintain the character of our single family neighborhoods. its inperative that we update our Municipal Code to better support our residents and business partners. We also need to secure a hotel for Wilton Drive to steer tourists to the Arts & Enterainment District.
Don is committed to ending the use of Utility funds for non-infrastructure related projects. I am committed to making infrastructure a priority in our budget funding, and pursuing every available source of State and Federal funding.
Our city needs to prioritize code enforcement, address problem properties, increase landscapes and treescapes, and ensure public safety is never an after thought. I am committed to ensuring life is just better here in Wilton Manors.
Don has been a resident homeowner in Wilton Manors for the last 14 years, where he lives with his partner of 25 years Marc Martorana, and their two rescues, Dustin and their youngest Ollie. Don is a very active member of the Wilton Manors community, attending all city workshops, planning sessions, and most commission meetings.
Don along with his partner Marc Martorana are huge supporters of our local charities, regularly hosting fundraising events at their home and other venues. Over the past year, they've also held events for SunServe, Equality Florida, Plays of Wilton, and the South Florida Symphony Orchestra.
I am passionate about growing our City responsibly to ensure that our budget is sustainable and fiscally responsible. It is imperative we maintain the quality and integrity of our single family neighborhoods and the "small town feel" we have all come to love.
